  • What is the difference between free and paid version?

    Pulsar Music Player Pro is the premium version of Pulsar, which contains following additional features:

    • 16 extra themes.
    • Theme customization.
    • 5-band equalizer controller.
    • 9 pre-built equalizer presets.
    • Bass booster, reverb and more.

    Pro version is an independent application, when you have paid version installed, you can uninstall free version.

    All your data from free version will be migrated to paid version automatically.

  • What is the trial period of free version?

    Unlimited.

    If you are not interested with premium features mentioned in previous answer, you can use free version forever.

    There is no trial period.

  • Do I need to purchase pro version again for other devices?

    Pulsar Pro is a standard paid application in Google Play. Purchase record to Pulsar Pro is bound to your Google account. That means if you have multiple devices using the same Google account, you just need to buy once and have premium version on all devices.

  • Do I need to keep Pulsar free version after I installed paid version?

    No. You can safely uninstall free version and only keep the paid version. They are two independent apps.

    Please launch paid version first before you uninstall free version. When first time you launch the paid version, it will try to migrate some data from your free version, such as your favorite songs list, playback history, etc. After the initialization of the paid version, you can safely uninstall the free version.

  • Which media format does Pulsar support?
  • Why does Pulsar not recognize my music files?

    There might be multiple reasons.

    Firstly, please click “rescan library” menu item from toolbar to rescan device. You can refer to music library refresh section for more info.

    If still not found, your music format may not be supported. Please refer to following link to learn the supported media formats:

  • My media database is corrupted, how to fix it?

    Media database rebuild is suggested. It won't break your music files, but just recreate the media store database.

    Here is how:

    Go to Settings > Apps > 3 dot menu > show system, find Media Storage, then clear data and reboot your device, wait a few minutes, the media storage will rebuild from scratch.

  • How to play songs in sequence instead of shuffle?

    There is a big floating shuffle button in each detail page to play songs in shuffle mode. If you want to play the songs in sequence, just click the first song in the page, please turn off shuffle in playing page, or disable "keep shuffle mode" in settings page in this case.

  • Music stopped after a few minutes, what should I do?

    Many users reported that their playback may stop after some minutes. Most common reason is system battery optimization. Please try following steps:

    Avoid Pulsar killed by system
    1). Go to Settings > Battery > Battery optimization, find Pulsar Music Player, select "Don't optimize".
    2). If battery settings in step 1) are not found, Go to Settings > Apps > Pulsar Music Player, find Battery settings, and change to Unrestricted.
    3). Go to Settings > Apps > Pulsar Music Player, and find notifications, enable "show notification" and "media playback" option.

  • Cannot find cast device?

    Please make sure you are using Wi-Fi instead of cellular. Also, please make sure that your device is in the same Wi-Fi as cast device.

  • Cast stopped after a few minutes, what is the reason?

    Many users reported that their casting may stop after some minutes. Please try following steps:

    Make Wi-Fi stay awake during sleep
    Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep > Choose "Always".

    Avoid Pulsar Wi-Fi killed by system
    1). Go to Settings > Battery > Battery optimization, find Pulsar Music Player, select "Don't optimize".
    2). If battery settings in step 1) are not found, Go to Settings > Apps > Pulsar Music Player, find Battery settings, and change to Unrestricted.
    3). Go to Settings > Apps > Pulsar Music Player, and find notifications, enable "show notification" and "media playback" option.

    If the problem still has not been fixed, please keep the screen on while casting.

  • Permission error when editing tags on SD card?

    SD card is read only on Android 4.4. If you are using Android 5.0 and above, please grant Pulsar write permission to SD card while editing tags. Please follow the steps which Pulsar shows to grant the permission.

  • I can not find my problem in this FAQ list?
